The Light Rail

The light rail is a 28.2-mile operating rail operating in the state of Arizona. As part of the Valley Metro public transit system, the light rail serves the cities of Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa.

Construction began in March of 2005 and operation started in December 2008. Since the light rail opened in 2008, the system

has undergone two expansions. Alta Arizona is proud to be apart of the journey of the light rail project. Alta Arizona performed testing on the light rail for the past two years and was just awarded another two years with the expansion that will take place.
