This class satisfies the requirements of OSHA’s Hazard Communication standards (29 CFR 1910.1200) by covering both the chemical and physical hazards of the workplace. Topics covered include the toxic properties of chemicals, personal protective equipment (gloves, respirators, etc.), fire prevention, and physical hazards such as electrical safety and specific company safety policies. Several other mandatory OSHA training subjects (Lockout/Tag-out, forklift, etc.) are covered in order to meet minimum training requirements for employees not directly covered by these other standards. (1-3 hours)
This class is required under RCRA (40 CFR 264.16) for any operators who handle (inspect, transfer, load trucks, etc.) hazardous waste. Topics covered include hazardous waste determination, the specific requirements for the on-site management (storage, inspection, handling) of hazardous waste containers, and record keeping and reporting requirements. This training must be refreshed annually. (2 Hours)
This training satisfies DOT and IATA (air) hazmat transportation training requirements (49 CFR 172.704) for individuals who select containers, package, label, load trucks, handle paperwork, or otherwise offer hazardous materials for shipment. Site-specific general awareness, function specific, and safety training are covered, as required. A certification quiz is administered, and laminated wallet certificates are issued to each person successfully completing the certification. Training materials include DOT charts and tables. This training must be refreshed every two years. (2-3 hours)
This training satisfies the requirements of OSHA’s Lockout/Tag-out standard (29 CFR 1910.147). Training covers when the Lockout procedure is required, lockout devices and the required lockout/tag-out procedures. (1.5 Hours)
Satisfies OSHA forklift standard (29 CFR 1910.178) by providing in-house classroom training as well as driving certification on the in-house equipment. Training is required for all operators of “Powered Industrial Trucks”, which includes powered walk behind units. Topics covered include the theory of operation, safety rules, equipment refueling and inspections as well as safe driving technique. Laminated wallet certificates will be issued to all successful drivers. (2.5 Hours)
Satisfies the requirement of OSHA’s respirator standard (29 CFR 1910.134) by providing both technical training and a fit-test. Topics covered include hazard determination, respirator selection, respirator limitations, fit factor, donning and doffing, and respirator maintenance. Fit-test is by irritant smoke. (2.0 Hours)
Satisfies the training requirements of OSHA’s confined space entry standard (29 CFR 1910.146). Topics covered include classification of confined spaces, hazard determination, atmospheric monitoring, permit completion, and the responsibilities of the Entrants, Attendant, and Entry Supervisor. (2-3 Hours)
Satisfies the training requirements of OSHA’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response standard (29 CFR 1910.120). Topics covered include the chemistry of hazardous materials, toxicology, atmospheric monitoring, emergency response, confined space entry, respiratory training, and first aid. The class is site specific and covers the actual hazards and chemicals at the work site. The class is offered as 8 hr., 24 hr. or 40 hr., depending on the training level required by the employees being trained. (8-40 Hours)
