Boundary Surveying relates to the determination of property corners and lines of a parcel of land described in a deed.

Surveyors are often contracted to perform a construction survey for the purpose of providing staking for new buildings, building sites, additions to buildings, road layout, utility staking, etc.

When a land owner is ready to design their new home, Alta can assist in all phases of this type of project. In fact, Alta has a unique distinction to its professional capabilities in that it has a licensed architect who has over 35 years of designing and building custom homes in Tucson and Pima County.

FEMA stands for Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA surveys are often required by mortgage lenders and insurance companies. This type of survey requires a field survey of a property to establish elevations around a structure, including finished floor elevations along with elevations adjacent to structures.

In July, 2010, we bought an existing survey company in Bisbee, AZ, Arizona Land Specialists. In addition to the records of ALS from 2001 to 2010, the purchase also included the survey records from numerous other survey companies that practiced surveying in the Bisbee and Cochise County vicinity over the last 100 or more years.

In March, 2005, Pima County adopted ordinance 2005-34 which requires a landowner to obtain a Minor Lands Permit (MLD) before he or she can legally split his or her land.

The purpose of a topographic survey and topographic mapping is to gather horizontal and vertical data about the natural and man-made features of the land. Alta Land Survey surveyors perform the topographic survey in the field by taking a “shot” on the ground or the surface of a hardscape item.

3D scanning is used to generate point cloud maps of environments with accuracy down to a few millimeters. Alta surveyors perform these processes using laser scanners which generate millions of 3D coordinates that are then translated into easy to interpret 3D maps.
